1. Who we are
These terms apply to orders and quotes with risetranslate ("we", "us"), which sells translation, localisation, interpreting and proofreading services through risetranslate.com.
Business name: risetranslate

[[CLIENT: legal entity form and org.nr / MVA number]]
2. Scope
These terms apply to every order you place with us, as a private person (consumer) or as a business. Mandatory consumer rights under Norwegian law are not limited by these terms. If you are a consumer, read the Refund Policy for your right of withdrawal.
3. Orders and agreement
You place an order by checking out, or by accepting a quote. We then review your document and confirm the final price and the delivery date by email. The agreement is concluded when we confirm in writing, and work starts after that. If the document differs materially from what you ordered, we tell you before work starts, and you may cancel free of charge.
4. Prices and VAT
Prices on the site are in Norwegian kroner and include 25% VAT (MVA). Prices are from-prices. We confirm the final price after we have seen your document. The minimum order is NOK 440 including VAT. Express delivery adds 25%; same-day delivery is on request and adds 50%, by quote. Interpreting on site: travel is charged extra and quoted when you book. We may change our prices at any time, but not for an order we have already confirmed.
5. Payment
Payment is by invoice, sent by email, due 14 days after the invoice date, unless we agree otherwise. If an invoice is paid late, statutory interest and statutory collection fees may be charged under Norwegian law. Card payment is not currently available. The card option shown at checkout is a test mode; no payment is taken. If we start to accept card payments, this will be stated here and at checkout.
6. Delivery
We deliver by email as a PDF or in the file format agreed. A certified translation can also be posted by Posten for NOK 99, or picked up in Maura during opening hours at no charge. Delivery dates are the dates we confirm in writing. If we expect to be late, we tell you as soon as we know.
7. Certified translation
Certified translation is stamped and signed by a state-authorised translator (statsautorisert translatør) in our network. risetranslate is not itself state-authorised. State-authorised translation exists only for language pairs into or out of Norwegian. We do not promise that a particular authority, school, employer or court will accept a translation; that is decided by the receiving body. Apostille, notarisation and legalisation are not included unless we agree them in writing.
8. What we need from you
You must give us complete, legible files and tell us the language pair, the purpose and the deadline. You confirm that you are entitled to send us the document and to have it translated. Tell us about names, spellings and terms we should follow. We are not responsible for errors that come from unclear or incomplete source files.
9. Quality, errors and complaints
We carry out the work with reasonable care and skill. If a translation contains an error caused by us, we correct it free of charge. If we cannot correct it within a reasonable time, you are entitled to a refund of the part of the price affected. Tell us about an error without undue delay after you find it, and no later than 30 days after delivery where possible, so that we can check it against your source file. Differences of style or preference are not errors, but we are happy to discuss changes.
10. Limit of liability
For business customers, our liability for any one order is limited to the price paid for that order, except in cases of intent or gross negligence. We are not liable for indirect loss, such as lost profit. We are not liable for decisions made by a third party, such as an authority rejecting a document. None of this limits rights that a consumer has by law.
11. Confidentiality and data
We treat your documents as confidential. They are used only to carry out your order and are shared only with the translators, reviewers and interpreters who work on it. How we process personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Intellectual property
You keep the rights in your source text. When you have paid, you may use the translation for the purpose you ordered it for. You confirm that you have the right to have the source text translated. We keep the right to keep our own working methods and term lists.
13. Interpreting bookings
An interpreting booking is confirmed when we confirm the interpreter and the time by email. You may cancel or reschedule without charge up to 24 hours before the appointment. Within 24 hours, we charge 50% of the booked fee. The minimum for on-site interpreting is two hours; for remote interpreting, one hour. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.
14. Cancellation and withdrawal
Consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven). How it works, and what happens when work has started, is set out in the Refund Policy.
15. Events outside our control
Neither party is liable for delay or failure caused by events outside its reasonable control, such as illness, power or network failure, or official measures. We tell you promptly and agree a new date, or you may cancel the part not yet delivered.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Norwegian law. For business customers, disputes are settled by Oslo tingrett (Oslo District Court) as the first instance. Consumers may bring a claim in the court where the consumer lives, and may bring a complaint to the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet) or seek help from the Norwegian Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet). We would like to resolve any problem with you first: write to support@risetranslate.com.
