This page explains cancellation, withdrawal and refunds for orders with risetranslate. Services are digital or performed to order, so there are no returns of goods. A posted paper copy of a certified translation is a printed version of your own document and cannot be returned for a refund unless it contains an error caused by us.
1. Consumers: 14-day right of withdrawal
If you are a private person, you have the right to withdraw from the agreement within 14 days, without giving a reason, under the Norwegian Right of Withdrawal Act (angrerettloven). The 14 days run from the day the agreement is concluded, which is when we confirm your order in writing.
2. If you want us to start work during the 14 days
At checkout we ask you to confirm that you want work to start now, and that you understand the consequences below. If you do:
- If you withdraw before the work is finished, you pay for what we have done up to the moment you told us, in proportion to the full price. We refund the rest.
- Once the work is fully performed, you lose the right of withdrawal, because you asked us to start and you confirmed this.
If you have not asked us to start work, you can withdraw within the 14 days and we refund everything.
3. How to withdraw
Tell us clearly that you withdraw, for example by email to support@risetranslate.com, giving your name, your order reference (RT-YYMMDD-XXXX) and the date. You may use this text:
To risetranslate, Ringduevegen 9, 2032 Maura, Norway, support@risetranslate.com. I withdraw from my order for the following service: [service]. Ordered on [date]. Order reference: [reference]. Name: [name]. Address: [address]. Date: [date].
You meet the deadline if you send the notice within the 14 days.
4. Refunds
We refund what you are owed without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we received your notice, using the same payment method you used, unless you agree otherwise. If you were invoiced and have not paid, the invoice is credited and you pay only for any work already done.
5. Business customers
The right of withdrawal applies to consumers only. Business customers can cancel an order before work starts, free of charge. After work has started, the work done is charged.
6. Interpreting bookings
You can cancel or reschedule an interpreting appointment without charge up to 24 hours before it starts. Within 24 hours, we charge 50% of the booked fee. This rule applies to changes to a booked appointment and does not remove your statutory rights as a consumer.
7. If the document differs from your order
If we find that the document is materially longer or different from what you ordered, we tell you before work starts. You can then accept the new price and date, or cancel free of charge.
8. Errors and corrections
If a translation contains an error caused by us, we correct it free of charge and re-issue it. If we cannot correct it within a reasonable time, you are entitled to a refund of the part of the price affected. Tell us about the error as soon as you find it.
9. When a receiving body rejects a translation
If an authority, school or employer rejects a translation because of an error on our side, we correct it free of charge. If it is rejected for another reason, for example because the body asked for a different kind of document, we will help you understand what is needed, but this is not a ground for a refund of work correctly carried out.
10. Complaints
Write to support@risetranslate.com or call +47 63 99 89 62. If we cannot agree, consumers can seek help from the Norwegian Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet) or complain to the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet).
