2. What we collect
We collect only what we need to answer you and carry out your order.

- Orders: name, email, phone number, whether you order as a private person or a business, company name and organisation number for businesses, the language pair and notes for each line, the delivery method, a postal address if you choose posted delivery, the date, time and place for interpreting, and the contents and total of your order.
- Documents you send us: the files themselves. They may contain personal data about you or other people, including sensitive data such as health information.
- Payments: invoices are issued from your order details. We do not collect card details. The card option in the checkout is a test: card fields are not sent or stored.
- Technical and analytics data: only if you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects information about your visit, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser. See the Cookie Policy.
- Records of your consent: your cookie choice, stored in your browser.

Special categories: where a document contains health or other sensitive information, we process it only to translate it for you, on the basis of your explicit consent when you send it to us (Art. 9(2)(a)). Do not send documents you do not wish to share.
4. Who receives your data
- Translators, reviewers and interpreters who work on your job. They receive only what the job needs and are bound by confidentiality. For certified work, a state-authorised translator in our network receives your document in order to stamp it.
- Service providers who help us run the site and email: our web hosting provider and our email provider. They process data on our behalf under data processing agreements.
- Google Ireland Limited, for Google Analytics, only if you consent.
- Posten, if you choose posted delivery, receives your name and address.
- Authorities, when the law requires it, for example bookkeeping or tax.
We do not sell your data and we do not use it for marketing to third parties.
5. Transfers outside the EU/EEA
Google may process analytics data in countries outside the EU/EEA, including the United States. Such transfers rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or on standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. You can avoid this by rejecting analytics cookies. Documents and order data are handled by us and our translators and are not sent outside the EU/EEA unless a translator is located there; we tell you before this happens if your document would be affected.
6. How long we keep it
- Quote requests that do not become an order: up to 12 months.
- Documents and translations: up to 12 months after delivery, so we can handle corrections and complaints, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Delete requests are honoured unless a legal duty requires us to keep something.
- Orders and invoices: five years, as required by the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act.
- Analytics data: according to Google Analytics settings, if you consent.
- Cookie choice: until you change it, and we ask again after 12 months.
7. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you access to the personal data we hold about you;
- correct data that is wrong;
- delete your data, where we have no duty to keep it;
- restrict how we use it;
- give you your data in a portable format;
- stop using your data where we rely on legitimate interest;
- withdraw consent at any time, for example for analytics. Withdrawal does not affect what happened before.
Write to support@risetranslate.com. We answer within one month.
8. Security
Files you send through our forms reach us by email and are not published or kept on the public website. The site uses HTTPS. We limit access to your documents to the people working on your job. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your rights, we will tell you and Datatilsynet as the law requires.
9. Cookies
We use necessary storage for your cart and your cookie choice. Analytics cookies are used only with your consent. Details and controls are in the Cookie Policy.
10. Children
Our services are not directed at children. If you send us a document about a child, you must be entitled to do so as a parent or guardian.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If we make a material change we will say so on this page.
12. Complaints
You may complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority (Datatilsynet), datatilsynet.no. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please write to us as well.
